About Tania

Tania Casselle writer and leader of online writing seminarsI have been a writer and editor for 30+ years, published in books, magazines, newspapers and online media in the US, Europe and Asia. I also work as a developmental editor for book publishers and individual authors.

A former committee chair for the American Society of Journalists & Authors, my nonfiction, fiction, poetry and radio work have been recognized in numerous awards and anthologies.

I hold a Masters in Transpersonal Psychotherapy and am on the board and faculty of the Sage Institute for Creativity and Consciousness. I follow a contemplative path in the Zen Buddhist and Christian mystic traditions, and often lead contemplative writing retreats incorporating meditation and mindfulness practices. I am an alumnus of the Living School for Action and Contemplation, founded by Fr. Richard Rohr, and serve as a Guide and Facilitator for the Center for Action and Contemplation’s Essentials of Engaged Contemplation year-long course.

As a writing coach, book doctor and developmental editor I work with people individually on a wide variety of projects including transformative and spiritual non-fiction and memoirs, and short and long fiction. I also teach seminars and writing workshops in person and online, and often have the privilege of teaching with my author husband Sean Murphy.

As a writing teacher and coach, I aim to help writers on every level, from the craft and business of writing to the deeper creative and spiritual impulses, including helping writers free their natural writing voices and navigate internal blocks. I’ve had the joy of helping many new writers to their first publications and writing awards.

A Brit from London, I live in New Mexico with my husband Sean Murphy, an NEA Award-winning author and a Zen teacher (Sensei) in the White Plum lineage.
